BACKGROUND

Maintaining vegetative cover on the Bois d’Arc Lake dam is critical to helping prevent erosion and maintain the embankment.

Vegetative maintenance on the embankment requires periodic reseeding to ensure healthy, consistent vegetative cover.

The No-Till Drill originally acquired is not conducive to the type of seed used to establish vegetation during the construction of the Bois d’Arc Lake dam and is difficult to operate on steep slopes.

Declaring this item salvage or surplus will facilitate a trade credit that will be used to purchase the following equipment:

o                     Landoll Icon Pull Type Grader

o                     Agspray 1000 Gallon Water Trailer

o                     Agspray UTV-Mounted Sprayer

o                     Turbo Turf Hydroseeder

o                     Blue Diamond Sod Roll Roller Attachment

This equipment will better support vegetation maintenance and erosion control activities by Bois d’Arc Lake Operations staff

With the trade-in credit of $40,000, this transaction will result in a balance due of $3,610.

All actions taken on the disposition of these assets are in accordance with NTMWD practices, state law, the NTMWD Personnel Policies Manual and Board Policies Manual.

FUNDING

Funding for the remaining balance of $3,610 has been authorized by Administrative Memorandum No. 5703 for the Procurement of Equipment for Bois d’Arc Lake Operations. No additional funding needed.
