PURPOSE

Request the Board of Directors declare the John Deere 1590 No-Till-Drill (Asset No. 1658) salvage or surplus in order to replace the asset with new equipment.


RECOMMENDATION

The Executive Director and NTMWD staff recommend the Board of Directors declare the asset listed below as salvage or surplus and authorize the Executive Director or their designee to enter into a contract with United Ag & Turf for the trade of such assets for new operational equipment as follows:

BACKGROUND

* Maintaining vegetative cover on the Bois d'Arc Lake dam is critical to helping prevent erosion and maintain the embankment.
* Vegetative maintenance on the embankment requires periodic reseeding to ensure healthy, consistent vegetative cover.
* The No-Till Drill originally acquired is not conducive to the type of seed used to establish vegetation during the construction of the Bois d'Arc Lake dam and is difficult to operate on steep slopes.
