Authorize funding in the amount of $4,583,900 to Freese and Nichols, Inc. for an engineering services agreement for final engineering design of the proposed Leonard Treated Water Pipeline No. 2, Segment D.

PURPOSE

This project will support the delivery of additional treated water from the Leonard Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to the north and east regions of the District's service area. Leonard Treated Water Pipeline No. 2 (TWPL2) will consist of approximately 130,400 linear feet (LF) of 84-inch diameter pipe from the Leonard WTP High Service Pump Station (HSPS) to the McKinney area. Design will be performed in two segments (Segment D and Segment E) by two engineering firms.

Segment D is approximately 72,340 LF is between the Leonard WTP HSPS-South to Collin County Road 500, in the vicinity of Blue Ridge where it will connect to Segment E (separate Board action on this agenda).

RECOMMENDATION

The Executive Director and NTMWD staff recommend the Board of Directors authorize the Executive Director to execute an engineering services agreement (ESA) as follows:
